Since the toilet in my parent’s room is not in use, it has become a changing room for my mum and myself. Yesterday night, I did my usual preparation before I go to bed. Took out the clothes that I am going to wear for the next day so that I can hang it in the toilet.
A small, dark form in my parents’ room, parked inches away from the doorway, stopped me dead in my track. Xuan’s blog pop into my mind instantly. I find the situation so hilarious when I was reading her blog. Now that the damn cockroach is right in front of me, I don’t find it as funny anymore.
Unlike Xuan, I do not have the courage to even look at the damn thing. I did what I usually do – I ran out screaming: 有蟑螂! I think I am luckier than Xuan because my parents are not asleep yet.
Armed with a can of Shiedox and a broom, my parents scrambled into the room to try and catch that damn thing. My mother tried her hand at killing the damn thing by spraying at it. Unfortunately, that damn creature actually flew and landed on their bed. Now, that is disgusting! I hope I don’t have to sleep on a bed which has been scarmbled across by a cockroach before.
Anyway, my brother who is standing nearby, did something out of extraordinary. He actually used his bare hand to catch the damn thing… literally. On a side note, he has a plastic bag over his hand. However, to me, he did such a brave thing. The little boy who use to run screaming with me, the little boy who use to use me as his shield whenever such creatures are in sight can evolved into someone so brave. That very night, my impression of him went a notch higher. My Hero!
I went to re-look at Xuan’s blog and I have to totally agree with her. The criteria that my husband has to be brave enough to catch any bugs or disgusting creature is STILL VALID AND EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. I don’t think I want my husband to run screaming along with me.
Dearie… Are you looking at this? Please morph yourself into some super bug or creatures’ destroyer / catcher. I will love you even more for this.
