I love weekend!
Can take things slow, no students and for once, don’t have to get anxious about work, catch up on all the girly talk with Mummy Dearest, meet up with Dearie after the entire week of immersing ourselves in our work. These are just some of the few reasons that I treasure my weekend so much.
Because Dearie feel that we have been doing the same things for most Saturday, we decided to do something different for a change yesterday.
Breakfast At Boon Keng
We went to have breakfast at the market in Boon Keng. They served quite a mean dish of carrot cake. I like it! Wanna give Xuannie a call to ask her out for breakfast. But looking at the time displayed on my watch: 10:15am. I bet she is still not out of bed yet. Right, Xuannie?
Pool at a place in Bugis
On Dearie’s insistence, we went to play pool. I suck at it – BIG TIME! Of course, Dearie got to show off his excellent skill in front of me. Quite embarrassing for I didn’t manage to get any balls into any hole for the first game. Did slightly better for the second and third game. Of course, Dearie win hands-down and humbly proclaimed he only won 3 games. That show-off! And I can recognise a sacarstic comment when I hear one. Of course, I never let him got away with it!
Ice-Skating at Kallang Leisure Park
Our first! A step onto the bed of ice and immediately we regret our decision to ice-skate. We both have limited experience with ice-skating (The last time I was on the ice bed was when I was in Primay 6) and we have a whole 2 hours on the ice. Damn! We were both frantically holding onto the railing lest we embarass ourselves in front of an audience. It doesn’t help that we saw kids skating so effortlessly around the ring. After the first round of holding onto the railing, Dearie got slightly braver and venture further away from the railing. I was of course still holding onto the railing for dear life. But with some encouragment from Dearie, I did let go of the railing and tried to skate.
After the experience, I conclude that skating is an expensive activity that can only be done on a not – so – regular basis. Nonetheless, I still hold a secret ambition of wanting to skate like some of the korean actresses in the drama.

Evidence of us skating
Feasting at Blue Ginger
We revive the 小娘惹’s craze by heading down to a Peranakan restaurant along the stretch of Tanjong Pagar Road for our dinner that evening. Check out the food we ordered:

Otah – Otah
I forgot most of the name except for one. (DUH!) Nice, cozy interior. I like the first dish, the soup as well as the otah. Though the otah was freaking spicy. Mmm… I kinda like the place that Sian bought me to eat better – Ivins. Perhaps the food there are more traditional.
Ice-Cream at Ben & Jerry
Ate ice-cream at Ben & Jerry! My favourite Vanilla while Dearie had coffee ice-cream with brownies.
Supper at home
Am extremely touched that Dearie make an effort to ta bao supper for my family on Saturday’s night. Though Mummy’s asleep, Brother came out and have supper with us. Watched “我猜, 我猜, 我猜猜猜!” with brother dear. And we all had a good laugh over supper, tea and fruits.
Weekend with my loved ones seem to fly by really fast. I just wish I have more time for them. If only time can stop…. *Sigh*
