Chinese New Year

January 28, 2009 · 3 Comments

Well… CNY just whizzed by in a blink of my eyes and now I am back to work. *Sigh* Ever since I grow up, I am starting to feel less and less for CNY. Have to agree with Ting, no more excitment and anticipation for CNY anymore. Like what Xuan says, it feels more like an extended holidays. Makes me wonder why CNY is reduced to be like any normal days.

Anyway, highlights for this year CNY:

1. Mummy’s New Year’s Eve cooking. As usual, Mummy cooked up a feast for us. 猪肚汤, curry chicken, fish, veggies and prawns. We finished  every morsels of the food. Damn.. we can really eat.

2. Me jumping around the whole house screaming in pain. I swear cutting the garlic into bits can make your fingers hurt like hell…. with noone to sympathise with me somemore. Yes! I am this 可怜, can? |

3. Latest addition to the family’s 团圆饭: Dearie. Am extremely happy that Dearie came over and have lunch with us. P Dearie was pigging out on the food and CNY goodies before heading home.

4. Dearie mumbling words of thanks to my Mummy and complimenting her cooking.  Dearie became so shy for the first time.  ;)

5. The usual ‘Mee Sua with egg’ on 大年初一.

6. Change of venue for our usual family gathering. Used to be at Grandma’s house but  it has been officially shifted to 四叔’s house. Think it will be a permanent shift for every CNY.

7. Dearie’s insistence of coming to our house to 拜年 even though he was already given an ang bao by Daddy on Chinese New Year’s Eve. So touched can? Dearie is so sweet lah. P

8. Me going out with Dearie on the evening of 大年初一.  Had Carls’ Junior for dinner and caught “Brides’ War”. Love the show! Anne Hathaway is a superb actress!

9. Am appalled to see that GV Marina was packed to the brink. Met my friends there as well.

10. Me marking away and snacking on the New Year’s goodies on 初二. Could not even finish one stack. Damn… Honestly, this is not exactly a highlight of CNY. More like a grumbling section for me. Have to agree with Sian… How not to think of work? *Sigh* |

This is how I spend my CNY. How did you spend yours?

他好疼我哦!

January 18, 2009 · 8 Comments

The one question that I really like to use on Dearie (and I use it quite frequently too) is: 你疼我吗? He will always smile to himself, sigh then nod his head and proceed to accede to most of my requests I made.  P

And so, to show the extent on how much he really 疼我, Dearie sprang a surprise and bought me to this really lavish restaurant situated at the highest level of the UOB building for an extravagant dinner. The “Sichuan Dou Hua Restaurant”.

A typical chinese resturant with a really elegant interior and superb ambience, plus nice scenic views of all the tall skyscrappers in Singapore. I swear the seats are super comfortable as well!! Its a pity we are not seated near the window to enjoy the night view. There’s also a tea-house in this resturant, where customers can get to 品茶. Nice!

The food is scumptious to a fault. In fact, I like every single one of the dish that we ordered! YUMMY!

Check out the food we order:

Feels like a pre-CNY dinner for the both of us with quite a hefty price tag. 好感动哦!他真的好疼我哦!So accomodating and always spring nice surprises and treat me to such nice food! 我好喜欢你哦 ! P
