I’m back!!! Back from a land which served excellent, mouth-salivating food! Dim Sum, dessert, the list goes on… I love them all. Though I must say that I didn’t managed to get much clothing at all. *Sigh*
Day 1
Reached the airport at around 7 plus in the morning. Checked in and we wandered around the duty-free shops to kill time. Called Mummy to tell her I was already at the airport and chat with her for a while. Went to board the plane at 8.45am. Plane took off at 9.15am. Goodbye Singapore!

Us at Changi Airport
Plane touched down at 12.30pm. Hello Hong Kong!

Waited for quite a while for the tour bus to ferry us to our destinated hotel – MetroPark CauseWay situated at 天后. Because of the ample warning given by Mummy, Xuan and Shi, I braced myself for the first wave of cold air to hit me once I reached the gate. Nothing. In fact, I was feeling kinda warm due to the strong beam from the sun. Was beginning to wonder if Xuan and Shi had hyped up on the weather of Hong Kong. Both Dearie and me were slightly annoyed to realise that we were stuck in a jam on our way to the hotel.
Reached hotel and seriously I could recommend this hotel to anyone who want to go Hong Kong. Nice and cozy interior. Best part, the toilet is spacious and clean! We proceed for some shopping at Central. Found H & M and I went crazy. Tried a dozen of shirts, dresses and skirts but ended up buying only a shirt and a skirt.
Douglas called and he bought us to eat dinner. Bascially, like 煮炒. Got pig intestine soup, 2 duck-related dishes as well as a veggie dish. Simply mouth-watering! Douglas then took us down for a drive at this long winding road which showcased the very expensive apartment at the 2 sides of the road.
Douglas is really a hell of a driver, which got me asking him, “You sure you have not met with any kind of accident before?” and finally declaring.” I think I’m going to be sick. Feel like vomiting.” Oh, Dearie offered to drive the car. Douglas’ immediate refusal had me laughing at them. Cheekily, I offered to drive, which had Douglas holding the keys even tighter.
We ended the night having 龟零膏 as dessert and Douglas telling me the places to shop.
Day 2
All ready for some serious shopping. Went 尖沙咀 and 旺角. But was extremely disappointed and quite dejected as my shopping cart remained empty at the end of the day, except for the gift I managed to get for the girls. Personalised keychains! You girls can start guessing who gets what!

Thankfully, Dearie managed to get some shopping done and our shopping trip was not wasted. Saving grace for the day’s event was the food. Thanks to shi’s recommendation, Dearie bought me to “糖朝” to have lunch.
My favourite porridge.

Check this out! Freaking expensive egg tarts that cost S$2 each.

Head down to Causeway Bay to meet Douglas and girlfriend. Finally got to meet Douglas’ girlfriend! Such a lovely and bubbly girl. Make me feel welcome instantly. They bought us to have dinner at a resturant called “喜宴”. Featuring some of my favourite dishes:

口水鸡 – I think

The very cute couple and our very warm and gracious host for our entire Hong Kong trip.

On Dearie’s suggestion, Karen bought us to have 汤圆 as dessert and also as an early celebration for 冬至which we will both missed due to our trip.

Day 3
Was quite touched that Karen and Douglas took leave to take us sight-seeing. They took us to see the Big Buddha. Took MTR to 东涌 and then took a freaking long cable ride to our destination. Though the ride offered nice scenic views, I was kinda freaked out by the height we are at.
And Douglas, irritating as hell, started recounting stories on how there have been accidents when they test-rided the cable car and due to technical faults, the cable cars stopped mid-air when they first started the cable car. He proceed to inform me now and then, “Oh, we are going down now. Look!” All this while, I sat glaring at him. And that Dearie did nothing to quell my fear. He went on snapping photos of all the views which I never get to appreciate. Karen is the nice one. She told Douglas to stop teasing me. Douglas protested saying, “I am just stating facts!” – which I have to grudgingly agree.

The frightening Cable Car Ride
Check out the flights of stairs we have to take in order to have a close-up view of the Buddha. Total of 267 steps to be exact.

Us posing before the climb
Karen took us to a mall which have all the various factory outlets. Only managed to get myself a skirt and a bag after 1 full day of walking around. However, Dearie managed to get several.
Went to 金源小馆to have dinner. 煮炒 styled dinner again. I like!! I declared to Dearie that this is my favourite eatery in Hong Kong. Because the owner said I look Japanese. Finally! Someone who didn’t say I look like I am from China.

Day 4
Karen took us hiking. All the way from ground zero to The Peak. Can see Hong Kong and all the tall skyscrappers from the peak.

The HSBC building that is known for its bad Fengshui
Karen and Douglas planned french cuisine for us that night, together with their friends. We have to dress up according to the Christmas theme. And Karen was the sexy Santa Clause. Very pretty and charming indeed!

Me and Miss Santa

The very expensive french cuisine. Featuring some of my favourites:

Oven-roasted French Quail With Grape Sauce

Vanilla Panna Cotta
Bon Appetite! Did exchanging of gifts as well. A typical christmas dinner in a foreign land. Wished the girls were here as well.
Day 5
Last minute shopping in Sogo at Causeway Bay. Got a small gift for Wenjing.
And loads of 老婆饼 and 黄梨酥 for family and friends. Went to have lunch at this restaurant near our hotel.

Douglas, you ought to check this restuarant out! Served extremely nice dim sum and other delicacies.
Finally, reached airport at 4 plus. Goodbye Hong Kong and Home Sweet Home at 10.30pm. Called mummy to tell her I’m safely back. Nothing beats coming home.
Karen and Douglas – The next time we will be visiting Hong Kong will be for your wedding.
