Taboo

This has gotto be my favourite game from today! Excellent groupie game!

picture-003

Was playing this game with the girls and Dearie on Saturday. Had so MUCH fun! So bloody amusing to see us spluttering and grappling with our limited vocab to describe the words. Even more comical to see the bewildered expression on our faces when we try to listen to clues to guess the words. P

Shi was the only one who was quick-witted plus she was so damn spot on with the description of the words. I was soooo impressed with her! I just love her!! P Shi was already rolling her eyes when she said to us, ” Didn’t know you girls have such limited vocab knowledge.” | Psssst shi… Don’t you know that none of us are paying much attention and are usually in la la land during lectures? Besides we don’t treat the dictionary as storybooks you know! Opps! ;)

The Devil Wears Prada

November 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Excellent Cast (Meryl Steep, Anna Hathaway). Superb acting. Witty dialogue. Was talking about the movie that Dearie bought for me over the weekend. “The Devil Wears Prada” I love this show!!!

The Devil Wears Prada main onesheet.jpg

In fact, I think most girls would die to be in the show. Louis Vuitton, Chanel,  Prada. You will see girls prancing around the show wearing all that glittery, branded stuff from head to toe. *Sigh* Anna Hathaway looks extremely stunning in the various setups. Nice! Want some of the clothing for myself too! P But with my lowly pay now, I can forget about getting any piece of the clothing shown in the movie. *sigh*

And the best part, Mummmy LOVE this show as well!!! Mummy is so cool! ;)

A Taste Of Kampong Life

November 26, 2008 · 8 Comments

There is actually a place on planet earth where littering is permitted and made legal. Wow! I was referring to our short getaway to tranquillity last weekend. Dearie’s daddy invited Dearie and me to attend a dinner function (something like 普度)at Penggarang. Penggarang is actually the homeplace of Dearie’s great grand uncle and auntie. Very nice and warm-hearted elderlies they are. Remind me of my own Ah Ma and Ah Gong. P

I shall be very frank here. I was kinda perturbed when I first saw the house that Dearie’s great grand-uncle live in.  The house is not exactly shabby nor filthy. However, I was appalled to see the black, tiles-less cemented floor. Think HDB flat that has yet undergo renovation. I was seriously considering the option of stepping into the house with my slippers on. Decided against it when I see the rest of Dearie’s family members, including himself ambled into the house without any shoes on. A sense of replusion surged through me the moment I stepped over the threshold – like I was stepping on some floor that was covered with grime. However, I stopped squirming with distaste  once I started to get accustomed to stepping on cemented floor.

As usual, acting like a pampered girl as what Dearie said of me, I began poking around the mattresses and blankets, trying to detect any sign of bugs or creepy crawlies living in there. Finally, assured that the mattresses and blankets housed no such disgusting creatures, I picked one of the mattresses as my bed for the night.

Our room for the night:

Needed to throw a piece of tissue paper and I asked Dearie where should I dump this piece of rubbish. Dearie’s answer of “Just throw it into the sea” had me gaping at him. Though Dearie did mentioned about the unusual method of disposing rubbish when he stayed over at his granduncle’s house during Chinese New Year, I honestly thought he was kidding then. Apparently, the sea acts as a vast dumping ground for garbage.

Maybe Dearie was right. I am too pampered. Honestly, I have grown up in a rather sheltered life where I know nothing about living in harsh environment whatsoever. Given a choice, I would still choose this hectic urban life that I am currently living in now. However, it is through this Kampong’s experience that I realise how fortunate I am.

Thanks to my Mummy who always ensure that me and my brother have a clean and cozy environment to live and sleep in. Thanks to my Mummy who always ensure that we have clean clothing to put on. Thanks to Daddy who ensure that we have a decent roof over our head by working so hard. I love Mummy and Daddy! You are always the best! Home Sweet Home! P

Life has been good to me so far. I should seriously quit complaining about how shitty my job is. Should start appreciating what life has given me so far. Yes! That will be my first resolution for the year 2009. P

Oh Boy!

November 24, 2008 · 2 Comments

Met up with Eric’s friends from abroad 2 months ago. So very thoughtful and kind of them to send an E-mail to Dearie, coveying their well-wishes and updating us about their life over in England. Glad to see them well and safe.

Like a true blue engineer at work, Dearie forwarded the mail with a simple and not-so-sweet 3-letter message for me: fyi.

For all his sweet and thoughtful gestures intended to make me happy and comfortable, Dearie certainly lacks the competency of crafting a decent E-mail to his girlfriend.

Hello Dearie Sweetie, I am neither your colleague nor your supplier. | Don’t you know a nice address, warm greetings accompanied by a one line sentence telling me what the content of the E-mail is plus a pleasant sign off will lift my spirit a few notches higher for the day?

Tsk Tsk… Boyfriend dear, you indeed have alot to learn about writing E-mail to your girlfriend.  Please try harder, boy. ;)

Dearie Sweetie

November 21, 2008 · 9 Comments

Had a 2 day 1 night camp with my dance girls yesterday. Was quite depressed and peevish to learn from the main teacher-in-charge that I will be staying alone with my dance girls throughout the night in school. Kind of freaked me out. Me alone with those little girls in this dark, eerie building. An extremely bad idea!|

Reached home at around 7.30pm to bathe and rest before returning back to school. Was complaining to my mummy about the situation when I received a message from Dearie telling me that he will reached my house in 10 minutes. Surprised, I called him.

Me: You come my house for what?

Dearie: I have something for you. Be there in 10 minutes. Want to go for dessert?

Me: But I have to go back to school by 10pm.

Dearie: No problem, I can send you back.

Me: ok…

He presented me with a newly-bought sleeping bag and honey lemon water the moment I stepped into his car. I was extremely touched then. He hasn’t forgotten that I do not have a decent thing to sleep on when I told him about the camp. Thus he make effort to buy a ( very expensive – according to him) sleeping bag for me. And honey lemon water to quench my thirst and to prevent heatiness. And specially delivered the 爱心stuffs all the way from his workplace to my place. *Soft Sigh* Such a sweetie you are, Dearie!

I jokingly make fun of his kind and thoughtful gesture.

Me: Trying to make me touched is it? That’s why have such special delivery for me.

Dearie: Not trying to make you touched. 怕我心痛而已。

嘴巴好甜哦!嘻嘻!但我喜欢!

Bought me to eat 豆花 before sending me back to school. So very sweet and attentive of you, Dearie! Appreciate the thought ALOT! Love ya! P

Girl Bonding Session and Madagascar

November 20, 2008 · 6 Comments

Tuesday – do not need to go back to school. YEAH! Determined that I should do more positive stuffs apart from lazing at home, I decided to meet up with my lovely friend, Wenjing . Looking at her, I cannot help but feel that time and age are really catching up with us.

Seems like only yesterday when I first saw her sitting alone in the lecture hall back in our university days. Because I was so lonely then (nobody took the same module with me), I ended up chatting with her over a piece of lecture notes. Since then, we become fast friends and stayed in contact till now. From her being a university student to her blissful marriage to her hubby and now heavily pregnant with a baby girl, she has indeed matured over the years.

Had a delightful girl bonding session on Tuesday. Just plain catching up on each others’ life and of course endless gossiping and giggling. I LOVE IT!  It is so nice to see an old friend getting on so well in her life. I am truly happy for her. P

In fact, friends around me are either getting themselves hitched or getting pregnant. We have really grown up and is stepping into a new phase in our life. Kinda sad to see all of us grow up so soon. But I guess this is life. Just accept and live our life to the fullest with no regrets. P

On a lighter note, I dated Dearie to dinner and movie that very night. Had Superdog for dinner (Highly recommended by Dearie) and I thought the food is not bad. In fact, way better than MacDonald’s! And finally managed to catch Madagascar – Escape to Africa. Am peevish to realise that the tickets are sold out so fast on a weekday! Dearie had to remind me that the “hungry ghost”(students) are out. O ya – them! Can spot them anywhere. URGH!

Escape 2 Africa

Anyway, LOVE this piece of cartoon alot! It is hilarious and cracks me up! I love cartoons and comedies! Good remedy for totally stressed up life! Even Dearie agreed as well!!

And Xuannie, nope you don’t exactly sound like that Hippo when you laugh. In fact, your laughter is far more farcical and comical. I bet the gang will agree with me unanimously. ;) But not to worry, we still love you!

Anyway, Dearie and I ended out night with supper at Mongkok Dim Sum at Geylang. Superb har gao they have there. Simply mouth-smacking. I love dim sum!

And I absolutely love SCHOOL HOLIDAYS!! *Scream, Clap, Throw Confetti*

Happy!

November 16, 2008 · 4 Comments

Received a text message from Dearie a moment ago. Had a big, wide smile plastered on my face after reading the message. My brother said I looked rather silly looking like that. I think I will happily dream of Dearie tonight.  P

Unfortunately, I can’t say what the message contain. Since Dearie self-proclaimed that he is a private person, I shall let this message remain a mystery to all. Sheesh… *Evil Grin* ;)

Our Christmas Tree

November 16, 2008 · 8 Comments

23rd Dec 2007 marks the day when I first saw Dearie. It is also under this gigantic, dazzling Christmas tree in Ngee Ang City where we first met. And now our Christmas tree that we so missed is back, rooting at the same exact spot again!

dscf4082

Because I was so nervous then, I skipped the part on self-introduction and went directly to asking, “What do you want for dinner?” And that boy never forget what I said. He relentlessly remind me of that very statement every now and then. That always got me fuming mad. Obviously, I made a whole lot of blunders that night by blabbering away non-stop. Blabbering also meant that I did not really think through before I said what I intended. You can therefore imagine how embarrassed I felt when I realised that some stuffs are better left unsaid. Oh well, nevermind.

This Christmas tree certainly bring back a myraid of fond memories for us. But it is quite horrifying to note that time really zoom by absurdly fast. It has almost been a year since we first met and now it is going to be Christmas very soon again.

Hopefully, I will get to celebrate Christmas with Dearie every year. Just like this year, where we get an early shot of ourselves under this magical Christmas tree. P
